Start with your requirements, not a brand name
A ticketing platform for a 50-person spoken-word event has different priorities than one for a multi-day seated performance. Write down your actual needs: ticket types, reserved versus general admission, staffing, attendee support, venue access, refund handling and reporting.
The seven dimensions worth checking
| Category | Questions to ask | What SONIV currently publishes |
|---|---|---|
| Fees | What does a buyer pay for a $25 ticket? Are there per-order and processing charges? | Published buyer service tiers; see fee schedule. |
| Payouts | When can the organizer access funds? What happens during disputes? | Stripe Connect destination charges transfer to a verified connected account; timing depends on its payout schedule, verification and banking. See funds and payout disclosures. |
| Check-in | Can staff scan QR tickets, handle duplicates and operate through outages? | Organizer check-in and offline tooling; review operational caveats. |
| Staff permissions | Can multiple staff have appropriately limited access? | Role-based event-team tools exist; review the actual staff workflow. |
| Refunds | Who can refund, how long does it take, and what happens to ticket validity? | Refund request and organizer review flows exist; cancelled-event outcomes depend on event terms and applicable law. See refund terms. |
| Buyer experience | Is the fee transparent? Are checkout and tickets mobile-friendly? | Mobile web checkout and emailed QR tickets; test on real devices. |
| Support | How are event-day issues escalated? Are tickets and queries trackable? | Human support and support requests; response targets are not guaranteed. |
Other providers to evaluate
Depending on your event, you may also want to review Eventbrite, Universe, Ticket Tailor, and Fever. These companies have different sales models and market focuses; not every one will suit every organizer.
We intentionally don't publish guessed competitor prices. Fee schedules and product limitations can change with country, event type and contract. Use a dated written quote, official help article or real checkout example for each comparison.
Run a realistic comparison
- Use the same example event budget for every platform.
- Obtain a complete buyer quote at the same face value and quantity.
- Ask for a payout timeline, refund terms and organizer reporting example.
- Test admissions with real staff and a supported demo or test environment.
- Decide based on total fit, not one marketing headline.
If another platform is a better match for your seating, access control or location requirements, that should affect your decision. SONIV does not promise to be best for every event.
